100 midwives tested the WaterWipes® Sensitive+ wet wipes for newborns and babies for four weeks. The WaterWipes® Sensitive+ wet wipes for newborns and babies was tested by the midwives and the pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and parents in their care for everyday use, usability, and overall handling. Other aspects of the product test included: moisture levels, texture, tear resistance, ease of cleaning, urine absorption, faecal absorption, skin-friendliness, quality, overall ease of use and ease of removal from the packaging.

Newborns’ skin is particularly sensitive in the first few days of life. It first has to adapt to all the new external factors and reacts quickly to friction, moisture or residues from skincare products. It is particularly during nappy changes that it quickly becomes apparent just how sensitive the skin can be, and many parents want a cleansing method that is reliable without putting any additional strain on the skin.
WaterWipes® was created precisely to meet this need. When Edward McCloskey’s newborn baby suffered from nappy rash, he began looking for an alternative. The aim was to find a solution that was as close as possible to cleaning with cotton wool and water, but which could be easily incorporated into everyday life. The result is a range of wet wipes that deliberately contain only a few ingredients and are now used all over the world.
A clear formula, a clear function
WaterWipes Sensitive+ wet wipes have been specially developed for newborns and babies, and are also suitable for premature babies. They are designed to gently cleanse the skin during daily nappy changes without compromising the skin’s natural barrier.
The formula of the baby wipes has been deliberately kept to a minimum. They consist of 99.9 per cent purified water and a hint of fruit extract. Artificial fragrances, colourings and other additives have been deliberately omitted entirely. This simple formulation allows for cleansing that closely resembles traditional care using cotton wool and water. They cleanse effectively without leaving any residue, making them suitable even for very sensitive skin types.

In everyday life with newborns, every simple, reliable solution that makes the early days with their baby easier for parents and saves time counts. WaterWipes Sensitive+ wet wipes can be easily incorporated into care routines without any further preparation. They therefore replace the traditional method of cleaning with cotton wool and water.
Thanks to their formulation, they offer a reliable, effective solution – whether used during the postnatal period, at home or whilst out and about. Particularly in the first few weeks of life, when the skin barrier is still developing, gentle cleansing can help to avoid putting any additional strain on the skin.
